You will definitely need to practice outside of your lessons at the studio, therefore, it is necessary that you have a suitable instrument available to you on a consistent basis - preferably in your home. If you do not have a suitable instrument in your home, and purchasing one isn't in your budget quite yet, you may find that a friend, relative, neighbor or church with a keyboard or piano, may be willing to allow you to practice during the week on theirs! Your instrument does not necessarily have to be an expensive piano. An electric keyboard may work just fine for your beginner levels. You can also look for less expensive piano options online (eBay or Craig's List), or through area Facebook groups, auctions, estate sales, yard sales, newspaper ads, etc. Just be sure to get it thoroughly tuned before starting lessons.
